• Introduction to Personal statement writing
• Student expectations of university
• Student goals and SWOT analysis

The assessment for this course will be a portfolio submitted on 17 November 2022, which includes-

1. Application Summary
2. Discovery tasks
3. Personal Statement

Grades for the module are recorded in term report and are based on the following criteria. All 3 criteria must be met to achieve the grade.

Pass

·       Completed Application Summary Page.

·       Satisfactory Personal Statement (to level equivalent to D or C module marking band).

·       2 Discovery Tasks completed.

Merit

·       Completed Application Summary Page.

·       Good Personal Statement (to level equivalent to B module marking band).

·       2 Discovery Tasks completed. Minimum 1 Discovery Task completed in detail.

Distinction

·       Completed Application Summary Page.

·       Excellent Personal Statement (to level equivalent to A or A* module marking band).

·       2 Discovery Tasks completed in detail.
